πŸ† The 3rd round of the Bellahouston Harriers Winter Championship took place last Saturday in the scenic Queen's Park.

πŸ“£ The Race Director (and Bellahouston Harrier), Laura Ritchie, gave a comprehensive briefing on the tricky course. Interestingly, Queen’s Parkrun, Glasgow is ranked as the second hilliest Parkrun in the West of Scotland, with its challenging hills and steep slopes, it is currently graded as a 4.8 course on the Runbritain website.

🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Harriers performed well on the day, with Jack Arnold claiming second place, achieving a course PB, leading a host of Harriers who did the same, with Fraser Armstrong, Mel Ronald, Darren Shields, Maria Spedsberg, Robert Carson, Helen Stevenson, Jacqueline Glass and Jasmine Shields (who pushed a buggy round the very challenging course!), all gaining course PBs. Well done, troops! πŸ‘πŸ»

⏱ It was a day of firsts: Ally Gowski ran a creditable 21:43 and Meg Sutton showed real promise with a competitive 24:20 in their first outings in the iconic blue saltire vests. Looking good folks! πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Emma Rogerson, on her first visit to Queen's Parkrun, had an excellent run and claimed a third-place podium finish, and the ever-competitive Claire McCormack, claimed the best female age-graded score.

🌳 On Sunday, the ever-popular Acorn Trails hosted another race in their South By Five series in Linn Park. Three members of the club, Stephanie Rudd, Michael McNamara and John Softley, ran well on the day, while other Harriers took on volunteering duties. The South By Five races really are fantastic events and you should check out the remaining runs in the series.
