π§ This morningβs cancellation was disappointing. When people train, plan and commit, it is never easy to see an event taken away by circumstances beyond anyoneβs control.
π₯ That said, what stood out most was the strength of the running community.
π More than 100 members of Bellahouston Harriers had signed up to take part β a reflection of the enthusiasm and momentum within the club, particularly among our growing junior section. Despite the cancellation, many still turned up, adapted, enjoyed a social run, and shared time together afterwards with friends across both clubs.
π Thank you to everyone involved in the early course checks at Pollok parkrun, and to our friends at Bellahouston Road Runners for your company and hospitality.
Days like this remind us that while we all enjoy friendly competition, the real foundation of our sport is community.
βοΈπ° There is space in running for every pace, every ambition, and every reason for taking part β whether that is racing hard or staying for coffee and cake afterwards. It is all part of the same shared culture. We look forward to the next one.
