Posted in News, Race Reports on Feb 27, 2023

🌳 Last Saturday saw the eagerly anticipated Mob Match between πŸ’™ Bellahouston Harriers and πŸ’œ Bellahouston Road Runners held at Pollok parkrun. This was the 7️⃣th running of the event and provides the opportunity for club members to participate in a 5k run and thereafter go back to Cartha for some coffee and rolls. β˜•πŸ₯

🦠 The event survived the pandemic by adopting a virtual approach, and this was the second post-Covid run. An incredible 1️⃣3️⃣1️⃣ participants entered, with Bellahouston Road Runners fielding 69 to Bellahouston Harriers 62.

πŸ“Š The unique feature of the Mob Match offers an advantage to the club that provides the most participants as they can discard more of their slower-paced runners. Bellahouston Road Runners were the winners of the event. Well done to the RR’s 🫢

πŸ’ͺThe event encourages each club to try their best and allows individuals to try to beat their competitors from the opposing club. No matter how quick or how slow, there is a welcome place for you at this unique run. Some interesting statistics were thrown up by the Mob Match, and some of them are shown below:
