Tollcross parkrun - Summer Championships

β˜€οΈ Tollcross parkrun was bathed in warm sunshine for last Saturday’s parkrun, which formed the 10th fixture in our Summer Championship. 41 Harriers were treated to the park looking at its best, with the refurbished glasshouse and the rose garden in full bloom.

πŸ™ŒπŸ» Adam Stark was the winner in a time of 17:24 - this placed Adam as the fastest Harrier ever to compete at Tollcross. Donald MacLaren was 2nd Harrier home in a fine time of 18:06, grabbing a new PB. Sam Kelly, in fine form, also claimed a PB with a time of 19:18, finishing in 7th place.

πŸ’™ Alastair Munro, a junior member of the club, continues to improve and finished in an excellent 9th place in a time of 19:48 on his first run at Tollcross.

🀩 Kristina Greig was the first lady finished and scored a PB with a time of 20:24. Followed by Becky Simister, who ran a PB time of 21:26. Claire McCormick was third ladies Harrier finisher with a time of 22:11, a new PB.

πŸ’ͺ🏻 A feature of club championship days is that Harriers run hard in an attempt to prevail against their fellow club members, and this makes for some close finishes. Vicki Fraser-Hopewell finished one second ahead of Robert Carson, and Tom Keenan edged out Deirdre Parkinson, both finishing at the same time.

πŸ‘ŒπŸ» On the day, a number of other Harriers achieved a PB, including Melanie Ronald, Pauline Henderson, Alison Mackenzie, Michael Meehan, Mark Watson and June MacLeod.

Congratulations to all who ran and a big thankyou to Tollcross parkrun for accommodating us!
